Oil Prices below $130

We just had a very nice development this week with Oil Prices going under $130 a barrel. But I wonder if this is something to stay or if we're just about to see a rebound to much higher prices. What do you say?

Para los amigos hispanoparlantes, esta semana los precios del petroleo comenzaron a bajar, llegando por debajo de $130 dolares el barril. Pero me pregunto si esto es algo permanente o si solo estaremos viendo un rebote hacia precios mas altos. Tú que dices? Cómo están afectando los pesos del petróleo la economía en tu país y en tu bolsillo en lo personal?

These days when gas prices are over $4.00 a gallon people are starting to take some extreme measures. I wonder what they would do when we hit $6.00 or $7.00. Probably next year? what do you say? Are you changing any behaviors because of gas prices?

Hoy en día que el precio de la gasolina esta por arriba de los $4 por galon la gente esta comenzando a tomar algunas medidas extremas. Me pregunto que es lo que van a hacer cuando estemos a $6 o $7 por galón. El año que viene tal vez? Tú qué opinas? Has cambiado tus hábitos debido a los precios de la gasolina?

Propósitos de Año Nuevo / New year's resolutions

Cada fin de año mucha gente hace propósitos de año nuevo.

Ahora que ya estamos en Julio y que la mitad del año ya se fue, estaba yo reflexionando en uno de mis propósitos: Bajar de peso. Cumplí ese propósito pronto en el año, pero se me han atravesado una serie de antojitos que no he podido decir no, así que lo que logré a principios de año lo tengo que volver a recuperar, es decir, bajar esos 2 o 3 kilitos de mas.

Every New Year's eve a lot of people have a lot of resolutions for the year.

Now that we are in the month of July and that the first half of the year is gone, I was reflecting on one of my resolutions: Loose some weight. I achieved that goal pretty soon in the year, but a bunch of Mexican snacks have crossed my way and I just couldn't say no, so, now I have to go back and loose again those 6 or so pounds.

What were your resolutions for this year? Which ones have you achieved already?

Llegaremos a un punto en el que ABSOLUTAMENTE TODOS los trabajos se manden a geografías de bajo costo? No lo creo, pero algo que parece seguro es la intención de ofrecer salarios mas bajos y menos prestaciones.
Will we ever get to a point where absolutely ALL THE JOBS will be sent to lower cost geographies? I don't think so, but something that is pretty clear is the intension of offering lower salaries and less benefits.

Qué irónico sería que tengamos al ejercito peleando dos guerras a la vez "buscando la libertad" para otros países, cuando esos soldados al regresar al país probablemente no encuentren un trabajo bien pagado porque el trabajo ya no se hace en su país.
How ironic it would be that we had the military fighting two wars at the same time "looking to bring freedom" to other countries, when those soldiers most likely won't have a well remunerated job when they come back because the job they used to do is no longer there.

Mientras cada vez más gente pierde su trabajo debido a la economía y el off-shoring y out-sourcing, los altos ejecutivos siguen rompiendo record de ingresos.
While more and more people are losing their jobs due to the soft economy, off-shoring and out-sourcing, CEOs keep setting new records when it comes to their annual income.
